Indeed, he does. At this point I'm wondering how many webcomics we have in common besides Girl Genius, Something Positive and Sheldon. Or if there's a fairly common list among fannish types for that matter.

Another you should make time for... Sluggy Freelance. Close to my heart for obvious reasons. www.sluggy.com It was my first webcomic and still my fave.

Others I love: PartiallyClips, Erfworld, XKCD, CTRL-ALT-DLT, and some others I read with less frequency.

That's kind of a personal decision with me. Lots of people love Sluggy. And I used to. But about two and a half years ago, it just went off the frickin' rails. It made no sense to me whatsoever, and when I go back and look at those strips it still doesn't. It's making more sense lately than it has in about two years... but still not enough for me to love it.

Understandable. It's a personal decision for me, too. That's why I'm still with it. But I do understand what you're saying.

I agree. Sluggy was fun for a while. Then something happened and it jumped the shark. I think it started with the house covering a portal to a netherworld dimension. It just hasn't been fun for a while. I might have dropped it but it's one of the first web comics I started reading on a regular basis and I didn't want to give it up. Guess I'm a sentimental fool. As long as they keep making it, there's hope.

I also read GPF, User Friendly, Evil Inc, Gene Catlow, Nukees (though that's starting to be like Sluggy too in the sense it's loosing its tough), and Jesus and Mo.

ConScrew (http://www.conscrew.com/) and Kara Dennison's other comics don't get enough readership. Neither does and Fragile Gravity (http://www.unseenllc.com/). I'm also fond of Dresden Codak (http://www.dresdencodak.com/), Irregular Webcomic (http://www.irregularwebcomic.net/), and Shaenon [livejournal.com profile] shaenon Garrity, late of Narbonic (http://www.narbonic.com/), has just started a new comic called Skin Horse (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/shaenongarrity/skinhorse/series.php).

Not very surprisingly, almost everything you list is on my daily (or as often as they post new strips) read list. I also have to highly recommned Wapsi Square (http://www.wapsisquare.com/), although it's best to start from the begining as the "slowly building weirdness" effect is really cool. (Or heck, just order the books! That's how I got my sweetie hooked!)

On your list already:
Kevin & Kell is still on my reading list, though I couldn't tell you why. The Great Bird Conspiracy did a lot to ruin the strip.
Sabrina Online is a nice little monthly treat.

Mentioned by others:
Ozy & Millie
Digger
Sinfest (very, very rarely)
Perry Bible Fellowship (should check that more often)

Not mentioned yet (linking to some non-current-comic pages to avoid spoilers):
Carpe Diem (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/graveyardgreg/carpediem/cast.php)
Breakfast of the Gods (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/poyorick/botg/series.php?view=archive&chapter=10960)
Supernatural Law (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/supernaturallaw/index.php)
Newshounds (http://www.newshounds.com)
Suburban Jungle (http://www.suburbanjungle.com)

And a comic that's run its course, but is still worth a browse through the archives of, The Class Menagerie (http://www.theclassm.com).

Web-only comics?

I like Pibgorn, by Brooke McEldowney, the artist who does 9 Chickweed Lane. It's a "fantastic saga of adventure both high and low, of forbidden passion and iambic pentameter, of fays, fools, organists, demons, accordions, heaven, hell and Shakespeare, Pibgorn follows the whims and flights of its eponymous fairy heroine as she plies her conviction that there must be more to life than depositing dew drops on dandelions and sleeping under mushrooms." Other main characters are Drusilla, a succubus; and Geoff, a former church organist (IIRC, he lost his job after his bishop's encounter with Drusilla).

I see that XKCD has gotten several mentions, and at least one other person mentioned Sinfest. However, I am stunned by the profound lack of links to
Achewood (http://www.achewood.com).

Also, I'm very much into a relatively new Webcomic called Octopus Pie (www.octopuspie.com). Very clever and beautifully drawn.

I recently put Too Much Coffee Man (http://www.tmcm.com/) back into my rotation, though in the year or two since I last followed it, the focus has shifted to a new, unfamiliar character, and TMCM himself is nowhere to be found.

It's not specifically a Web comic, since it appears in many GLBT-realted print publications, but Dykes to Watch Out For (www.dykestowatchoutfor.com) is as insightful and endearing as ever, and one of the best-drawn graphic narratives in any medium. Also, there's a lively community centered around Alison Bechdel's frequent blog posts.

He doesn't post very often any more, what with his weekly columns for Wired taking up most of his time, but Lore Sjoberg's Lore Brand Comics (http://www.lorebrandcomics.com/) is insanely great when he gets around to it.

I should also mention that I'm developing a Web comic myself. Since it's the first thing even remotely like this that I've ever done, and I can't, well, you know, draw, I probably shouldn't over-hype it. All I'll say now is that it's called Cream of Aluminum Soup and its motto is: better poetry through empiricism. A computer is involved, possibly one or more humans, and, god willin' and the crick don't rise, some sort of sloth.

That is all.

These comics are listed roughly in the order I started reading them. A couple of these have wrapped in the last month or so, but now I have a convenient place to find some replacements... :-)
