I've had that song running through my head since Tom's post, but I don't know that I entirely agree with it.

One does not, strictly speaking, have to be taught to fear. Fear of the unknown is something we're born with. One has to be taught not to reflexively fear.

But without question, one does have to be taught to hate, to respond to fear with malice.
