Given the quality of the average remake of 70's films (particularly ones that I have a special nostalgia for), I'm dreading this one. It makes me think, "Oh, look, they're remaking one of my favorite films from childhood as an action movie with THE ROCK!" Sort of like, "Oh, look, they're taking one of my favorite childhood science fiction shows and turning it into a comedy vehicle for Will Ferrell". I can't imagine this one being better than the original in any way except for the size of the special effects budget.
