TOP CHEF Spoiler Thread
Just caught up after the past few weeks.
Man oh man, is it fun to watch Tom Colicchio and Emeril Lagasse in the kitchen. Boy, was it not fun to watch Carla and John. I was quite pleased Carla left last week -- she was loud, abrasive, and I don't think a particularly good chef. And John is obviously a gifted chef, but his "I only tell the truth" attitude is one very often used by people who know they're being offensive.
On the other hand, I am saddened by CJ and Tyler getting booted. (Haven't yet looked at Last Chance Kitchen on the Bravo site, so I don't know if they're still in.)
And, as proud as I was of all of the chefs for last week's episode, this week's episode was... astonishing. I think there's some merit in the thought that the chefs should've had three hours, rather than two, to bring everything together for lunch... but they were close enough that their various failures could not be overlooked.
And, no wonder Colicchio was mad. He just had to apologize to a number of local artisans for his chefs screwing up their ingredients... their art. I was frankly glad that the prize money was pulled off the table.
No matter how bad the burger was, though, I still can't believe Josie and Eliza weren't booted, what with sand and an actual rock in their dish.
Sigh.
Thoughts?
