Frankly, at this point the public (and the chicken-shit media) should be *demanding* that Trump and all the other birthers *apologize* to the President and to the rest of the country for their reprehensible behavior.

To be honest Trump's an embarassment. The whole birther thing is just ridiculous and, at least in my opinion, firmly rooted in race. The fact that the birthers are now saying that regardless of birth certificate that Obama is not a "natural born citizen" is just proof that its about race.

Yeah, Yahoo's news blurbs this morning included the headline "Birth certificate debate may be racially motivated".

I expect tomorrow they'll have one on the order of "Grass may be green".

John McCain was born outside the U.S. (in Panama). This doesn't even reach a blip on the radar of the people who voted for him (as a Real American) even as they shriek "Where's the Birth Certificate?" to that skinny Negro with the funny name. It's first last and always solely about race. Birthers are as firmly inoculated against facts and the truth as the unreconstructed racists that they truly are.

Well, yes, he was born in the Canal Zone, but as the child of US citizens, he obtained citizenship that way.

Which Obama would have obtained as well through his mother.

Except I don't think citizenship can be inherited from the mother, just the father.

Besides which, there's "citizen" and there's "natural-born citizen", and you can be sure that distinction would be hammered on if Obama's citizenship status were dependent on jus sanguine instead of jus soli.
