YEA! I was just chatting with Sandy Schreiber, asking if she still had her old "Danger Mouse" tapes. Was going to clomb onto them and burn them to DVD.
I've had six Danger Mouse DVDs for ages ... oh, you've got a "limited" DVD player, don't you? :-)
I don't know about voltage converters, but if your TV can handle the signal, we can buy multi-region DVD players here in the UK for under 50 dollars ...
Here's a list of the six DVDs available in the UK http://www.tv-timewarp.co.uk/danger_mouse/DVD.htm And three of them are currently buyable (in the UK) for £4.99 each (including postage) from www.play.com
If you have a computer or similar that can rip from Region 2 DVDs (I haven't checked to see if they are actually region locked), then I'd be happy to stick them in the post to you ... just make sure they make it back to me sometime! (e.g. with filkers at the worlcon or coming over to FilkContinental)
I have one of them and I'm pretty sure that it is Region 0, but it's definately outputting PAL signal, so you'll at least need a DVD player that's smart enough to do PAL/NTSC conversion. Picked it up from a charity shop during my most recent visit.
Good to know it's finally coming out on R1, though.
The same people did two one-week mini-series based on Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, WYRD SISTERS and SOUL MUSIC. They were okay, for that kind of limited animation. Good voices, really good music. Who could resist Christopher Lee as DEATH? You could practically hear his dialogue in the characteristic CAPITAL LETTERS.
I'm not even sure which voice I prefer honestly. Being an Amercian of course I heard the cockney one first. The italian gangster thing didn't bother me when I heard it of course. But I'm not sure I like the voice as much on more aesthetic levels. Of course that could just be what I got used to.
