ECW! ECW! ECW!

Okay, here's one for my Ann Arbor-area fellow wrestling fans.

This Sunday night is the ECW: One Night Stand pay-per-view. Now, you can shell out thirty-five bucks to watch it at home, maybe get a few friends over...

... or you can come watch it at the Quality 16 Theater on Jackson Road, between Wagner and Zeeb. Big honkin' screen -- as in, movie screen. Popcorn and nachos at the concession stand.

Admission: four dollars.

Yeah, you read that right.

You can even buy the tickets online. That cranks it up to five bucks. Boo-frickin-hoo.

See you at seven-thirty.

I'm not thinking that so much. Their DVD, The Rise + Fall of ECW, kicked ass, took names, and sold like nuts. I have a hunch that there will in fact be one huge mosh at some point -- but I have hopes that the ECW matches and features will in fact be fun... if nothing else, a hit of nostalgia.

There's also the possibility that, given Vinnie Mac's predaliction for the brand separation, that perhaps this is an "audition" for an eventual ECW resurrection. That's probably too much to hope for.

As to the seat price -- gulp. Tell me that's ringside, and they get to keep the chairs (that survive).

As far as I know, $400 is for floor seats, and $150 is for balcony seats. It goes without saying that all the balcony seats went fast and the floor seats barly sold any.

The $400 buyers are now getting special invites to an autograph session before the show.

There's also talk that with Smackdown moving to Fridays, then done by `06, it may become ECW in it's own form.
