RiffTrax

Ohhh, I am so down with this.

Michael J. Nelson has a brand-new site, RiffTrax, where you can buy an audio MSTing of Road House for $1.99 (beta price -- it may go up). It's an MP3, you sync up your MP3 player or iPod with the movie, and Mike verbally dissects it for you. More movies on the way.

Yeah. Yeah!

That's a great idea. A while ago, I saw someone (Roger Ebery, maybe) suggesting normal people record and distribute their own commentary tracks for movies. But if I'm not a noted film critic or scholar, why would anyone want to hear what I think about my a movie? Answer: because I'm making fun of it, and that is funny.

DAMMIT!!

I swear, I JUST came up with this EXACT SAME IDEA the other day! Although my implementation wouldn't require you to manually sync it with the movie.

Woo Hoo! Road House! I have already got my download and it's hillarious so far...I miss Crow and Servo, but hey, for $1.99 I'm not complaining!!!

I know not too long ago Plan 9 from Outer Space (in Color no less!) and Little Shop of Horrors were re-released yet again and these releases feature MST3K's Mike Nelson's commentary on them. Now with Roadhouse... that makes 2006 the bestest Patrick Swayze Christmas this year!

That's a great idea! Now all I need to do is get hold of some black window cling material so I can cut out a little Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot to stick in the lower right corner of my glasses and the illusion will be complete!

Plus, once he gets things fully up and running, we now have the technology for him to MST movies while they're still in theatres!
