Worst Music Video EVAH

I would like to apologize to my friend Hal for whatever it is I did to him that made him send me this.

You can, if you want, get revenge

[identity profile] sydb42.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
The link filkertom posted was merely bad. This one was so horrid that I'm still twitching and I watched it 10 minutes ago. You win. ;)

[identity profile] jcw-da-dmg.livejournal.com 2007-05-22 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I had to watch the Hank Marvin version to floss my brain after about a minute of the disco version.

[identity profile] wildcard9.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Good thing I minimized the browser and just listened to the music. Not a bad song, but I took one look at the video and knew that I would not want to watch it (at least not at work :)

[identity profile] filkerdave.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's safe for work. It's just not necessarily safe for your keyboard...

[identity profile] gryphons.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
nor truly safe for any nearby walls, desks, floors..

[identity profile] razzle.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's exactly the one that leapt to mind in connection with the words, "Worst Music Video EVAH."

[identity profile] unclekage.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
Why did YOU pass it on to us! You knew we'd watch it. WHY???

URf. It looks like a cross between cheerleading tryouts and a Richard Simmons video, directed by Bennie Hill.

[identity profile] raven-ap-morgan.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
No, it isn't. Boring and dipsy, but not the worst.

The worst has to be the low point in Leonard Nimoy's career - The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFoytXbjjWI).

I would say "Enjoy!" but you won't.

Raven

[identity profile] filkertom.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 12:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I love that one. It's as campy as any Batman episode. This thing, on the other hand, takes itself so seriously....

[identity profile] raven-ap-morgan.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, in that light, I can see your point. It's still the low point in Nimoy's career, though, and if I were him, I'd never want to see it ever again (as opposed to the Batman episodes).

the low point in Nimoy's career

Never seen Zombies of the Stratosphere, have we?

[identity profile] darkwolf69.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, it's not the VIDEO that sucks so badly....

[identity profile] grimmbear.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG.
Words fail me.

[identity profile] stevemb.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I need to go soak my brain in acid now.

[identity profile] foenix.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I've actually developed a soft spot for this atrocity. And then I start picturing He-Man as the lead singer.

[identity profile] filkerdave.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
By the disco ball of Greyskull!

[identity profile] gridlore.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty awful. But in the category of Terrible Heavy Metal Videos, I give you Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills (http://youtube.com/watch?v=uXSpHpdRwkU)

They filmed the concert segements just before Maiden left for a tour. The director was instructed to fill in with old footage from indian war movies. The song itself is fairly serious, but the director pulled all his clips from a single 1920s comedy short. The band was furious when they found out, but by then it was too late.

[identity profile] juuro.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
They were a big, BIG hit in the 70s. And Danny is still a major player in the pop circuit.

Unbelieveable.

[identity profile] the-dark-snack.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet, it still doesn't horrify me as much as this one does (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qHtkWyNvgU).

[identity profile] jcw-da-dmg.livejournal.com 2007-05-22 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's bad, but it's not so bad it's BAD!

That video was shown on one of the UK TV shows about a year or so ago with appropriate commentary from the hosts of the show ... and yes, they thought it was pretty bad too!

Tom, one more bad video like like that and I will be rooting for Shoebox in the Dementia Smackdown on June 1st!!

[identity profile] wormquartet.livejournal.com 2007-05-21 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
GYAGH!!! What is it with Finland?

There's a Finnish metal band called Stratovarius I listen to occasionally, and their vocals are equally atrocious. My favorite line from any of their songs (picture it over a standard 4/4 fast-paced metal beat and heavy guitars)

"I know your name, it's called Mr. Mean
One thing I've learned, you don't know beans"

At least they don't have videos with besweatered prancing space-weenies.

sorry. Still doesn't hold a candle to that one music video which is still used by 3rd world nations as torture - "Apache"

I'd watch this over any rap music video any day.

I assume that you've seen Brian Froud's pressed faerie art?

Here's an example, just in case you've not seen it:
