In somewhat the same area, I just today listened to the original cast album for "Evil Dead: The Musical". It was, I'm sorry to say, awful.

I heard some of the songs and from what I heard, it could have been good if they just got better singers for chrissake.

Really? Strong disagreement from this end. The tunes, while energetic, were generic pastiche. The lyrics were a motley compendium of bad rhymes, worse scansion, and stale jokes.
