I think good dogs everywhere should be insulted by the comparison. One would think getting fingers bitten so often would make them stop stocking out their hand without a newspaper or a choke chain. Well said all around.

This is *so* right.

Gibbs damn well offended me. And I don't think I'm particularly easy to offend.

Gibbs has not offended me...

... nearly as much as OBAMA has offended me, for the reasons listed in the article and more.

Gibbs, like any press secretary, is nothing more than his master's voice, chosen to have no independent thought whatever. His words, and the attitude which spawned them, are shared by the man who picked him for his job- and that would be Obama.

When I think of the Administration's appeasement policy toward the Republicans, the thing that most comes to mind is Monty Python's black knight, except that instead of insisting on fighting while his limbs are lopped off, he's trying to shake hands, again and again and again. And when they chop off his hands, he offers them his feet, and after that his balls, and his head, and...come to think of it, maybe the balls went first.

"It's only a flesh wound. Just watch; as soon as I attack and alienate the left more thoroughly, this time they'll give me a warm hug."

Just imagine what might happen if they were willing to attack the republican ostructionists as nastily as they attack their own side. Obama and the Democratic Congress would be more popular than FDR and JFK combined, and would be assured of gaining substantial reinforcements in the off-year elections.

*sigh*

And it doesn't help that blue-dogs have resisted almost everything the ACTUAL Democrats have wanted to do, to the point where if you voted for a Blue Dog to express support for the Democratic agenda you have a case for fraud.

I mean Christ, people, I don't favor purity tests as a rule, but you need to have SOMETHING that defines membership in your political party besides a desire to wield power and abuse privilege.

Yes!

Pfah. He reminds me of a nasty, petty, vindictive woman I used to know who worked at my old church. She was meaner and more oppressive to other women than the most misogynist priests could have managed in a month of Sundays. It was her way of sucking up to the boys in charge and fawning for a hairsbreadth more power they would surely graciously grant her for being such a Good Woman.

Yeah, Gibbs, go after the group that's on YOUR side. Maybe that'll make the vicious, stupid schoolyard bullies like you now.
