Open Thread Monday

Greetings, all. MillenniCon was, as usual, a lot of fun, and [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear and I saw several good friends and just had a splendid ol' time hangin' out with [livejournal.com profile] braider, [livejournal.com profile] zencuppa, [livejournal.com profile] lukeski, [livejournal.com profile] surakofb5, Bill Levy, Juanita Coulson, Mary Alice and Gary of Dark Star Books, Nick and Linda Winks, Sally Kobee, and more. Many thanks and hugs to Pat Stanley, Christy Johnson, Chris Barkley, Mark Evans, Dan Ryan (Happy Birthday, Dan!), the lovely Celeste, and the rest of the MillenniCon staff for their usual marvelous job.

Now, back to work on Personalized Song templates for the web site, and on Sounds Familiar, which I would really love to have for MarCon.

Oh, and, I can now confirm that I will indeed be at To Be Continued, May 6-8 in Schaumburg, IL.

So, how was your weekend, and how's the week looking?

weekend...

The weekend was long and good at Lunacon in NJ. (We moved from the Escher hilton to the Escher roadways...) It was easier to hold a con in a hotel where 4 is above you and 6 is below you when you are filking on the 2nd floor. (7 was around the bend. Yes, the song Hyper Hilton is accurate...)

Now its in a hotel where you DO need a GPS to get to/from food off site. I heard a number of comments where people would be able to get to food in 5 minutes, but getting back took 45 due to the roads.

Now onto the con....

I did my usual bid of being in a ballroom with lots of pegboard and pipe and wondering which con it was anyway... (I am a member of the Incredible East Coast Art Show Crew.) Very nice art show at the convention and some good filking. (Sorry, but I don't have a list.) Your name did get mentioned at one point and as a very good example of a filker to listen to in the Intro to Filk panel I wandered into.

I do know I did hear a filk based on the tune to 500 Hats and I asked if you had heard it. (Original lyrics and I am sorry, but I don't know who did it.) Hopefully a copy will make it to you, if it hasn't yet. (It was suggested.)

Darkstar?!?

I'm an Antioch alum -- Darkstar got me through college. I still load up my trunk whenever I'm in Yellow Springs.

Really cool to see them pop up on my radar screens again. Thanks.

It was great seeing you again, Tom! It's a pity I wasn't able to serenade you in the open filking (but I managed to sing it before Luke escaped) ;)

Looking forward to Dragon!

weekend was, as per usual, packed. worked, went dancing at goth nite, worked, went to my first conglom programming meeting (i'm programming secretary!), worked, had a lovely dinner with my parents and my boyfriend. today is shaping up towards il change, then work, tomorrow and thursday involve school and telling the rest of my friends circle that aren't on lj that i didn't get into bloomington, with a diabetes care appointment, learning my new insulin pump, and work on wednesday. then friday will involve soliciting sponsors for conglom, work, and then goth nite again, followed by more work and possibly a movie.
it's at least predictable enough that i know roughly what's going on. i don't think i have the brain capacity until after finals for anything new and innovative.

Sorry I didn't make Millennicon. I e-mail Pat last week to let her know I couldn't make it, but apparently word didn't get out since there was a message on my machine last night from someone asking if everything was okay since I had been expected down there.

See you during 2BC.
