Potential Presidential Follies

[livejournal.com profile] jrittenhouse noticed the budding presidential campaign of General Zod, and of course even though its page hasn't been updated for awhile Cthulhu should be in the running as well.

Then there's Christopher Walken.

So, who would you like as your candidate in '08? Only limitation is, they either can't actually exist. (I realize some people think that Walken exists, given all those public appearances and documentary evidence, but this recently discovered video proves conclusively that he is, in fact, a special effect.) My own vote would be for either John Sheridan or Josiah Bartlet. (Corrected the spelling, there -- sorry!)

I thought about this long and hard and came to the conclusion that I would need to nominate someone that met the prerequisites for running for office, as well as be capable to run. Also, being a feminist, I refuse to consider gender when thinking about a candidate (a true feminist, that is. Not the popular image of a man-hater, or woman-superiorist, but one that believes in true equality). So, the candidate must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years of age, and have resided in the United States for at least 14 years. This presents us with fewer choices, but I believe I have indeed come up with the answer:

Mary Russell, is a dual-citizen of Great Britain and the United States, was born in the US, and resided in the US for the first 15 years of her life. Born January 2, 1900, she is well above the 35 year old limit by the time 2008 rolls around. If you're unaware of who she is, go to your nearest library or bookseller and ask for the Mary Russell mysteries by Laurie R King
