Twenty to six in the morning, and you have already killed me dead. BWAH!

[identity profile] shaddragon.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
This is made doubly funny because I just hours ago finished watching Evil Dead 2 for the first time....

I think I lost it when I spotted Nessie in that gignormous ship painting he kept walking past.

[identity profile] folkmew.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I think the ship painting that wouldn't end is what got me. :-)

[identity profile] scott644.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Definately worth a chuckle.

[identity profile] ratbastrd.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Bruce is the man, and that was awesome.

It was actually the 40 foot long sailing painting in the background that made me giggle the most.

[identity profile] ladystarblade.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow. Way too early in the morning for the verbal rope-a-dope, LOL. That was great...though the book nerd in me was going, "hey, isn't that the same outfit he was wearing on the cover of "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way"?'

[identity profile] drzarron.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Same set too.

We had fun going down to the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak to meet up with Bruce (and little buddy Ted Raimi) at a showing of "The Man With The Screaming Brain" and autographing "Make Love* *The Bruce Campbell Way:" I also got my copy of "If Chins Could Kill" signed.

[identity profile] ladystarblade.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Woohoo! I recognized it! Glad to know my brain still works sometimes.

Hey, very cool on meeting the Man...I was riding on an elevator with Ted Raimi many years back at Dragon*Con, and havens' help me, the only thing my 18 year old self could think to say was "Omigod, you've gotten to work with Bruce Campbell!" Thankfully he laughed...while I just facepalmed, LOL.

I actually saw that commercial on TV on Sunday during the Patriots play-off game. It was the painting that got me rolling on the floor.
kshandra: A cross-stitch sampler in a gilt frame, plainly stating "FUCK CANCER" (Fan)

*nods* I'll confess to being horribly out of the loop and not having recognized Campbell, but the painting had [livejournal.com profile] gridlore and me lollerskating.

Now I know I didn't get enough sleep last night. That was starting to make sense. *whimpers and hides under the pillows*

Arghhhhh!!!!!!!

[identity profile] gypsylady.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Lacking a sound card, I have to ask....what's with the fire? But...even without sound this was really funny. Had to watch it three times to get a lot of it but that's okay. At this hour of the morning I have to do pretty much everything multiple times to get it right. Even drink coffee.

I am not so much a Bruce Campbell's movies fan as I am a Bruce Campbell fan. I've seen a number of movies I found otherwise uninteresting just to see Bruce. The man is a genius. And I'm SO MAD that I can see this but not hear it.

In answer to someone's question above, if that isn't the outfit from the cover of "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way," he has a sadly limited wardrobe. Any man owning more than one of those jackets is either Robert Wagner or insane.

We thought this was an Adult Swim skit, because it was the only place we've seen it, and IT is so damn good. Is this being shown elsewhere (besides YouTube)?

[identity profile] ionicaq.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It is an actual TV commercial, saw it with my own two eyes!

[identity profile] gpeefalt.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I posted elsewhere that I thought he picked the wrong deodorant to pitch:

"This..... is my *SPEED* stick!"

[identity profile] filkertom.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, I'm envisioning the Mad Magazine cartoon, where it goes "BOOM!" and the last panel has him standing there, holding the deoderant at a smoking hole through his armpit....

That icon fills me with joy.

She had twenty three masts,
And she stood several blasts,
And we called her the Irish Rover!

[identity profile] johno.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Me thinks you need to walk the plank for the that one!

[identity profile] daundelyon.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
*squee*

That hurt my brain. Awesome!

Easter Eggs

[identity profile] pickledcritter.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
At the beginning, anyone notice the chainsaw against the fireplace and the Necronomicon in the bookcase above his head? :) (didn't see a boomstick anywhere tho' :) )

Re: Easter Eggs

[identity profile] ddrussianinja.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw the chainsaw, but I can't seem to find the necronomicon...

It's behind the face to the left of the picture on the shelf that's at shoulder-height when he stands up and walks around the back of the chair - you can kind of just see the textured cover peeking around the edges of that face.

In the words of Kevin Smith;

"If petitions meant jack shit, then Bruce Campbell would star in every movie ever made!"

[identity profile] filkertom.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I would love to see an adventure movie with him and Brendan Fraser -- possibly even a remake of The Great Race, with Fraser as The Great Leslie and Campbell as Professor Fate....

[identity profile] fuuberry.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Thsnk you for putting that in my head and then getting me sad that it will probably never exist.

[identity profile] johno.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Push the button Max!"

The Great Race was on the Speed channel this past Friday afternoon. To say the least, I didn't get much work done in the afternoon.

It was one of the first movies I ever remember seeing in the theater... No, I'm not that old. It was played in the Ohio Theater during their summer movie line, the week before It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Much love for those movies, much, much love.
