Candy Voting Machine

As a nice counter to Shirley Nagel, below, here's an enterprising trick-or-treater in Decatur, GA:

That kid and his costume were brilliant! And Obama won the candy count by a landslide :D

That is an intelligent young man who's going to go far in life. :)

I agree about what the best candy was.

I <3 mini-Snickers

*has a bag full in her freezer*

I wonder what the Barr voter gave him...

I wonder if anyone tried to stuff the ballot box.

That's freakin' adorable.

Civic-minded and cute all in one awesome kid! And just think of the story his parents will have to embarrass him with when he's a teenager! :-)

(As I live near the area in question, I should note that Decatur, GA is just about the bluest suburb of Atlanta, which is the bluest part of a state that otherwise is as red politically as the clay it's made of. So his Obama "landslide" is not surprising to me; but the kid appears to have done his best to be impartial and fair to both candidates. Would that we could expect Obama to carry the state as easily, but he likely won't.)

Really? Bluer than Athens?

Actually, according to electoral-vote.com, Georgia is fast becoming a light pink state (that is, white with just a pink outline.)

Interesting that the republicans 50-60 years ago were up in arms about reds and pinkos - and now they're it. Whose idea was that?

I figure the reason Virginia and North Carolina are turning blue this year is heavy rainfall in Kentucky, washing all the blue grass toward the Atlantic.

What's the explanation for Georgia?

Awww, bless. What a cute idea.

Well, that kid's CLEARLY a socialist terrorist! Spreading the candy around, with so much fat it makes everyone's heart stop!

Seriously, I wish I'd thought of that when I was trick-or-treating in '92.

Obama got more votes, but McCain supporters gave the better candy. I think the kid needs to go out there and get more votes. :-)

That is cool.

Okay, that just kicks so much ass that I cannot express in words how much ass it kicks. Reposting to my own journal.

apropos of nothing, I just wanted to let you know that--for no apparent reason except the perversity of the multiverse, I woke up with "Fenton, the death sheep from hell" stuck in my head.

That's all. You may shop as usual. *g*
