Support The Troops, End The War
May. 23rd, 2007 08:07 pmSomething to do this weekend besides go to cons and picnics.
It hasn't been stated here for a little while, and this is a perfectly great place to do so: Although I despise BushCo and their politicking of the whole Iraq misadventure, "supporting the troops" is not a partisan issue. I've had friends and fans go over there. So far, all have come back that I know of.
"Supporting the troops" means, first and foremost, not wasting them. By, say, lying the country into a war. And having no clear means, plan, or apparently desire to end it.
It means making sure they have the supplies they need. The equipment they need. The numbers they need.
It means not making sweet deals for business partners who then don't deliver.
It means, basically, making sure they are fighting for the interests and the people of this country, and that they are brought back home safe as quickly as possible.
Ain't gonna happen under BushCo.
Support the troops. End the war.
