Still travelling, but I should have more internet tonight and much more tomorrow. All is well. Much more later this week, as well as CapriCon. How are you all doin'?

Good to hear you're around!
Capricon looks like much fun. I wish I could go.
Then again, I'm just trying to avoid all the displays of pink and lovey-dovey happiness everywhere right now :P

Yay! You're back.
CapriCon looked like such fun on the flier.

Doing quite well. I just had a novel picked up for serialization. It's a dark carnival/circus freak thing. And the one that just finished its serial run comes out the 27th!

And my 12 year old took the ACT. TWELVE!

I'm *great*! I had brunch at the Nice Cafe, which is named after the French city, but is also nice. Then I got to see the Chinese New Year parade from a very high balcony overlooking the staging area, then from the sidewalk, then from the very high balcony again. And soon I have a train ride home in store for me!

I'm trying to avoid all the lovely foil-wrapped chocolate, whilst not so secretly craving it.

And your 12 year old will probably beat out most of the high schoolers taking it for college admissions, too.

His big sister pulled a 19 on it at that age.

17-19 is the usual score for the valedictorians at the very rural school my husband teaches for.

Duke University sponsors the testing at this age. It's their little way of finding the talent before it gets all confused with hormones and high school.

been a big ball of pathetic this week. home with plague Tues-Thurs, miserable Fri, did Something Dumb to my knee yesterday, miserable today but knee better. more issues with Dad, big surprise, seriously considering running away from home as soon as i can and just starting over. tired of hurting and being out of shape, trying to see how i can squeak a gym membership out of the budget, and trying desperately to find a job that isn't retail before i shoot somebody. and it's That Week upcoming, so my mood promises to deteriorate further. but i am loved, so i soldier on.

Down with bronchial pneumonia but otherwise ok. Especially after yesterday. My hope for humanity is offically renewed. :) (This has nothing to do with the elections)
