It's not my stuff, but a former co-worker (Tim Bete) has written a book on how to raise your children as pirates (Guide to Pirate Parenting). It's been promoted on the Talk Like a Pirate website. BTW, Tim likes your song.

If you are in Second Life tonight, at 6SLT (pst) at Club Cutlass, the Passionate Redheads are hosting a dance to raise money for Cancer Research. I will be spinning the tunes, which range from Rock to Dance to a self-described category of WTF. Come join us as we joke, dance to the music, and have fun while trying to make cancer a mere footnote in future history tomes.

New Scifi Horror Game!

We're doing a fundraiser to raise money for the printing of our book. We've already met our quota, but if we reach $1,000 David Hill, the guy behind this project, will wear a dress to either Gencon or Origins this year and run demos in it!

Maschine Zeit is a Scifi Horror game where the players take the role of investigators exploring derelict freighters and space stations that were abandoned after the big Cataclysm of 2105. Ghosts, mutants, and other horrors lurk in dimly lit corridors aboard these stations but the rewards may very well be worth the risk!

The game's mechanics allow for players to feel like they are the stars of a movie, and with good enough dice rolls they can even influence the plot! We're hoping for a May 1st print date and we will be selling the game at Gencon as well as running demos throughout the summer con season! Check it out!

Just bumped you over the top.

So will it be some kind of strapless evening gown with a bit of slink to it or more like Kaylee's Layercake lacy dress?

My New Manga!

My new comic book is now available. It's called Perils of Picorna, and it's co-written by myself and Amy Kaczmarowski, and illustrated by Missy Pena. Here's the quick blurb:

Picorna has come a long way from her life as an orphan on the streets of a dirty port city. She was rescued by Sister Talavaria, a fast-rising voice in the Church, who ascended to its leadership with Picorna as her personal apprentice. This year, Talavaria is attending the King’s Autumn Court in the capitol city, and Picorna finds herself in a strange place with perils lurking at every turn. With Talavaria’s life in danger and a key advisor missing, Picorna sets out to solve a mystery that will place her on a collision course with the Church’s most deadly enemies.

Perils of Picorna is a 33-page fantasy tale drawn in shojo style with b/w artwork and a full color cover. It's available from Dandelion Studios here (http://www.dandelionstudios.com/?p=446). It's the first of six issues, and we've had a great time putting together a story that combines fantasy adventure, a strong (and scrappy!) female lead character, and a dash of 1940s movie-serial style. Hope you'll give it a look!

And while I'm here, I also have a horror story in the just-released Close Encounters of the Urban Kind anthology from Apex Books (http://www.apexbookcompany.com/).

Oh, a wiseguy, eh?!

Just drop me a note for details.

Each month I ask folks for ideas, and write poems based on whatever they send. April's theme was High Fantasy. The post-fishbowl report is here, where you can read poems already sponsored:

A poll to pick out poetry sponsored by general donations is here:

And a list of unsold poems, including several lyric poems, with their prices is here:

I recently YouTubed a few sketches I wrote years ago for my college sketch show. Including this one time when I "rescued" a sketch that had been mistakenly recorded without any audio, by dubbing my stupid voice over the action and turning it into allegedly beautiful malarkey. Enjoy the malarkey:

And two sketches I wrote using actual paper, pre-shoot:
