Over on my own LJ, years ago, I pointed out the very same thing -- how the actions of Christ looked a lot like liberalism.
I mean, he feeds the multitude on loaves and fishes, rather than showing them how to fish. He heals the lame. He offers comfort to prisoners -- talk about being soft on crime!
And, of course, there's his hostility to business. Just look at that hoopla in the temple, with the moneylenders. (Heck, in Jesus Christ, Superstar, he seems to REALLY have it in for the postcard vendor, whose stand he knocks over twice!)
