Ever since I first heard about the game, I knew that I was definitely gonna check it out. The Genesis game was great at the time and it still is fun to play from time to time.

The only person they couldn't get for the game was Rick Moranis and that was only because he retired. From what I heard it was because he made so much money off the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" franchise that he just doesn't have to work anymore.

Still considering this is the third movie, according to Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis, this may be one of the acceptions I have to first person type games. :) I've also heard rumblings about a game based on The Real Ghostbusters animated series being made too.

All in all it's looking like a good year for gamers. :)

Money was part of it. There's a fairly good writeup on him at Wikipedia detailing his reasons for retiring. The short version is his wife died young, leaving him as a single dad. He made a decent amount in Hollywood and didn't blow it on an extravagant lifestyle. He dropped out for a while to raise his kids and realized he didn't miss it. He still works on a few projects but only ones he wants to do.

Looks cool. Pity I don't play video games any more, with all the junk I have to do. I was wondering, though, whether they got Joe Straczynski to do any of the writing. (A big part of his career was writing and producing the animated series.)

Anyway, this wasn't the first. I remember buying the Atari computer version of the Ghostbusters game; it annoyed the store owner as the attract screen played a good version of the theme song and printed the lyrics underneath.

This might be the game that brings me back into video gaming. I am lousy at it, and hate games based on how well I can twitch at just the right moment (and how quickly my PC can react to my twitches). Hopefully there will be a PC-based version since I don't own any gaming consoles (it would be a waste of money on me, the types of games I play are not the type that are made for gaming consoles).

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why they couldn't get him to voice Lord Dark Helmet in the Spaceballs Animated Series. Those are good reasons for retiring. It's a paradox since Hollywood needs more actors like him, but all the actors like him would have already retired.

Trailer was great. "It wasn't me this time. I swear!" This may be enough for me to upgrade my computer or get a PS3. The Wii-mote is too small for my hands to hold like a proton pack (and if Zero Punctuation's review of a Starwars game for the Wii is any clue, it won't translate well). But for the PC one word: MODS!

Regarding Moranis - I've been watching the SCTV DVDs recently, and it struck me just what a versatile performer Moranis was. Just observe his amazing Dick Cavett impression:

You wouldn't really know it from his film work, though - after the success of Ghostbusters, all Hollywood wanted from him was slight variations on Louis Tully nebbishness, some brilliant (Little Shop of Horrors) others ludicrous (the Honey I Blew The Dog series). I could be wrong, but I don't think he even needs glasses.

Mark my words, though - team him up with the right project and the right director, and he'd be capable of a comeback of Bill Murray proportions.

I am provisionally glad that this survived a descent into Development Limbo when Activision Blizzard played Duck Duck Goosed with their productions. While the game screens we're seeing don't seem to show an actual gameplay screen (plenty of shots FROM the game, yes, but I don't call it a gameplay screen if I don't see a HUD), I really want this one to be good. As others have said, this might be the game that makes me buy a Wii.
