I love all you guys. Happy New Year, and may 2009 be easier on us all than 2008 was.

Any particular plans you have for the New Year? Not resolutions, just things you'd really like to do. I've got a couple-three albums to write and record, I need to set up a few more convention gigs, and I'm really hoping to cook some good barbecue this summer.

The big thing is moving into my new apartment/project studio (due next week) - same building, but a two-bedroom, so I can devote a separate room for audio recording as well as using the so-called living room as my main studio space. I've been buying up new gear for the place like crazy (just got a couple of new condenser mics, a new mic pre, and a SansAmp for bass today), as well.

Goals: Really taking off in the producing market, both in rock and in filk. I've been twiddling my thumbs at it for a while, but I want to get busy in 2009. I also want to finally get a CD of my own material released this year, after all these years.

Yes, I'm being ambitious. Happy New Year to you and all of you...

I'm thinking of changing my LJ nom de plume to Ol' Dirty Bastard (now that the original ODB has passed).

My best you and yours for a terrific 2009. Let the games begin!

Look at the West coast when setting up those cons if you can, please ... We'd happily host a house concert in Sacramento for you, and I actually think I do have enough room.

Happy New Year to you, Tom. The goal for [profile] bosswriter and I for 2009 is to get the house in IL sold and get moved down to the farm in MO.

Well, seeing you at least once, with the convention plans I've got set up. Possibly bringing my cousin, too. She's 18 and was exasperated with me when she found out I went to WindyCon without her. *g*

In less Tom-centric plans, to write every day and try to keep up an average of 500 words or more per day, and to get my screen door fixed tomorrow. (Handle broke, got stuck outside waiting for someone to help me pry it open tonight.)

Oh yeah, and mailing off my last Christmas present. >.> In my defense, they didn't tell me about that Secret Santa until late-ish for a handmade gift and I did say mine would probably be late. (In my prosecution, I was in the throes of inspiration and totally forgot that thinner yarn means having to do more work to cover the same area. Sigh.)

Thanks Tom :) A very Happy New Year to you and yours as well.

For me? Well I'd like to get that political book I keep threatening to write done. I'll also be visiting Rolla, MO a couple times to visit friens, going to Gen Con (to judge) and hopefully making it to a local con where you'll be performing. Other than that not much really, aside from an SSI hearing I have to go to in January.

Hmm...

>>Any particular plans you have for the New Year? Not resolutions, just things you'd really like to do.<<

I generally don't make resolutions, but I'll pick something new that I want to try out -- this year it's reusable shopping bags.

>> I've got a couple-three albums to write and record <<

Ooo ... albums ... !!covet!! We had a couple friends over yesterday, and we played songs of yours and The Great Luke Ski's until everyone's face hurt from laughing.

>> I need to set up a few more convention gigs, <<

Any chance of the Ohio Valley Filk Festival being one of them? Someone tipped me to that recently, and we're considering it, if finances permit.

Let's see, goals for 2009... Buy every song you come out with! No, wait, I do that already (your songs are better than prozac, and a lot cheaper)

I hope to meet some new fandom and other creative people in the Seattle area. The few I started making friends with this year moved out due to job reasons (maybe it's my mouthwash?)

I hope you have a very productive year and reach new fans by the hundreds!

I made a list of my resolutions on my LJ here http://alverant.livejournal.com/21096.html I'm still trying to decide if I want to get a PS3, build a media computer that's hooked up to my TV and monitor, or a straight blu-ray player.

Happy New Year to you, Tom! *hughugs*

I found out at work today (well, actually, yesterday at this point) that I had a wish come true. My boss has decided to be a stay-at-home mom and leave the company. While much of the harm she has done my perceived quality of work is likely irreparable, I am hoping that the extreme stress and anxiety she greatly contributed to will see some improvement.

I hope to be able to follow through on my plan to get a second job, which I really need. After being sick for almost 5 months in 2008 I cannot pay my bills, even working full time again. I can make it work with a second job. Here's hoping I can find one, and that nothing drastic happens with the creditors until then.

I also want to find ways to feel like I can make a difference, truly, even if I cannot donate any money.

That is my big plan. Oh, and to make time for just relaxing. Not being at home and stressed to the sky and beyond about what nightmare scenario is most likely, but really relax. I hope that maybe I'll be able to find some of my creative impulses again, too. I look forward to it :)

Peace, love and happiness.

Happy new year to you, too.

Plans? Survive more school. Have a summer job--ideally, working for the EFF via the Google Policy Fellowship.

And maybe live a little while I'm at it. *grin*

Just a few goals. Continue to audition for new parts in radio shows over at Pendant Audio. Try to get the Cartoon Geeks podcast out quicker and more often. Maybe get some of my song parodies onto the FuMP Sideshow, if I can figure out the rights/royalties situation. And maybe, just maybe, learn to care for myself a little more.
