TOP CHEF Season 7 Begins!

Last season, I utterly dropped the ball on this one -- didn't watch a single ep. This year, while I haven't yet watched the premiere from last night, I have at least downloaded it, and will do my best to get to it over the next day or so. We definitely have a couple of clear front-runners, a couple of clear laggards, and a whole lot of Who Knows. In other words, a typical season opener.

I'm glad they didn't allow a gap between TC: Masters and this season, though.

Also, FWIW, I'm so NOT digging The Next Food Network Star, already. I think it's because the purpose, as spelled out in the first show, is to find a star who can push product, which just happens to be food related, as opposed to TC, which is about the food.

I'm looking forward to the season (looks like Bourdain is coming back!) and curious to see how it will all shake out. Was it just me or did we see Nancy Pelosi in one of the clips of the upcoming season? She and Joe Scarborough might just be interesting enough to inject politics without injecting politics.

Then again, it could all blow up in their faces... Who knows?

Wow Tom, you really did drop the ball. The sheer amount of talent last season, especially amongst the final 4 was amazing. If you ever get the chance to see it, do so.

I have a feeling you'd particularly like Kevin (Because, so did everyone. His beard got its own facebook fanpage)
