Several goodies, including:Any other new video releases we need to know about?

ETA: And INSIDE the frickin' Watchmen case is a coupon for $10 off the Ultimate Collector's Edition coming in December. The only possible reason to get it is that the Tales of the Black Freighter stuff is edited into the film. But that means THREE cuts of the same movie, dribbled out in a way to make as much money as possible. Mother fuck.

You covered it all. Hopefully my copies of Watchmen and Coraline will be in the mail box when I get home.

I will be hoping the first three are still on sale in a month. Though, I have a BURNING desire to say "Screw it" and go get Watchmen RIGHT NOW. :-)

I agree in principle about the Watchmen. But Best Buy is going to owe me some gift cards via their credit card rewards program. By the time the Ultimate edition comes out, I should have enough to get it for free.

thought I would post this here too

I'm just glad they aren't doing Coraline as a 3D-only DVD. I watched it in 3D in the theater and wasn't impressed. Hopefully 3D will (once again) die a quick and death.

Sorry to hear about the coupon. It's really stupid how they're trying to milk every dollar from the fans. If it weren't for us, there wouldn't even BE a Watchman movie. But look at the bright side. You could give the coupon to someone planning to get the Ultimate Edition.

I have prescription glasses and in order to see the 3d as 3d, I had to deform the 3d glasses a bit becaues they were too far out from my face due to the glasses I was wearing. VERY annoying.

I just love that they push out the Stargate SG-1 pilot as "new". Yes, it has new material. But I HAVE THE FREAKIN BOXED SET.

They should just give it to me, given how much money I've given them.

That's the problem with 3D. Me, I have 20/20 vision, and it didn't matter. When I saw it in the theater, depending on the scene, I saw proper 3D, or slightly out of alignment, or sometimes it was just 3 overlapping images of different hue.

The new 3d stuff doesn't separate the colors. It uses two images projected polarized, and the glasses are polarized so that one eye sees one image and the other eye sees the other image.

Odd. I saw the separate images and they did appear to be of different color.

Got Pushing Daisies yesterday. I hadn't realized Coraline was out, and may get that. Next week is, relatively speaking, huge for me. Green Lantern: First Flight, Dollhouse, and The Middleman.

Well, I don't know if they used multiple types, but the one I was watching was definitely the newer variety that uses polarization instead of dividing colors. I looked it up when I got home.

It seems more likely that I was seeing what I expected to see instead of what was there. You're probably quite right about them not being of different color.
