Arianna Huffington has long been one of my favorite "seen the light" stories. Her new book Fanatics and Fools: The Game Plan for Winning Back America looks to be excellent. And it contains her "New Contract for a Better America", to which I subscribe whole-heartedly.

Farewell, Felix

Great sadness: actor Tony Randall has died. Best known for playing Felix Unger on the long-running TV version of The Odd Couple, he also made dozens of memorable movie and TV appearances, including the voice of Brain (the smart gremlin in Gremlins 2) and his superlative work in The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao.
