Max Schmeling Passes Away

One of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, Schmeling was promoted by Nazi Germany as a symbol of Aryan superiority. He upset Joe Louis in 1936, but lost a 1938 rematch in the first round. The two ended up becoming great friends (to the extent that Schmeling paid for Louis's funeral).
