Five goodies that will give you all kindsa new sound.
  • Analog Warfare 2.5, a bass VSTi from Angular Momentum. (The download link is actually here. It says you have to register, but I didn't, and got it with no trouble.) Going to the Freeware VSTs section, from the first link above, you can also get WaveDraw Free, a synth that allows you to draw your own waveforms.
  • NUSofting's Marimka, a physical modelling synth for ethnic percussion. Free unless you use it in a commercial project, then only $19.
  • If you can still track down the most recent issue of the British magazine Computer Music, the DVD has a 2,190-sample female-vocal kit, the standard CM Studio (a great bunch of free plugins for both PC and Mac) and a lite but still extremely powerful version of the Samplitude workstation.
  • Clone Ensemble, which you can hear at work in "Death By Wubbie". That chorus took me about eight freakin' mouse clicks, and singing the lines twice, two copy-and-drags and BAM. You can also use it for instrumentation. The tricky part is registration: You can use it, but until you cough up $25, none of the controls work. ;)
  • Magnus' Ambience freeware reverb unit. Holy crap. He'd like donations, and does this baby ever deserve 'em.
Any goodies you've found lately, or anything cool you've done with what you've got?

Great. Looks like my fixing a couple of HTML formatting codes is sending the iTom stuff back through the RSS feed. Sorry.
