Thirty years ago, the idea of Michigan playing Ohio State for the number one spot in the nation would've sent me into the same screaming fit it's already sent a lot of people.

Bye, Bo

An outgrowth of the previous thread: U-M's beloved former football coach, Glenn "Bo" Schembechler, has passed away at the age of 77. Even if you don't like football at all (and I will admit to liking it some, just nowhere near as rabidly as some people), Bo was a powerful presence here in Ann Arbor, and pretty much universally revered.

The day before the Ohio State game for the #1 spot in the country. What, some greater power who's a football fan decided it wasn't already dramatic enough?

Do any of you U-M football fans have any particular memories of Bo? I remember how he and Woody Hayes used to go at it verbally before every game.

As you might be able to tell from the past few posts, I've got a bad taste in my mind, and I'm trying to get rid of it. Ideally, it should be easy at a con. I'm in Philly, settled into the room (very nice room, very nice people at the hotel). Dinner plans already made. I'm gonna go downstairs and get my badge. I'll post my schedule here in a bit, but I know I've got a concert tomorrow afternoon, I'm playing the halftime at the Masquerade tomorrow night, and I'm the Iron Filker on Sunday.
