Happy Birthday, Dr. Demento
Apr. 2nd, 2007 06:49 amOn this date in 1941. Thanks to
hughcasey for reminding me of the Doctor's b-day. And, thanks to the Internet, for making him easier to find than ever.
What are your favorite comedy music tracks? Obviously, each of us could likely list dozens if not hundreds, so try to keep it to, say, ten or less. Again, I'm not naming a whole bunch of stuff, so that you can play. :)
My own list would definitely include "Yoda" and "One More Minute" by Weird Al Yankovic, "Dead Puppies" by The Ogden Edsl Wahalia Blues Ensemble Mondo Bizzario Band, "Elderly Man River" by Stan Freberg (with Daws Butler), "New Horizons in Music Appreciation" by Peter Schickele (with Bob Dennis), "The Scotsman" by Bryan Bowers, "Existential Blues" by Tom "T-Bone" Stankus, and pretty much everything by Tom Lehrer and Allan Sherman (although "The Vatican Rag", "The Masochism Tango", and "Harvey and Sheila" are especially freakin' amazing).
