Heading Home From DemiCon
May. 17th, 2010 09:11 amI didn't get to Felix & Oscar's Pizza on Saturday, because I got up to the hotel room and realized I wanted to fall over. But Eric brought some pizza back for me. Mmmmmmm, garlic.
Sunday, I hung out for a few hours, singing songs and selling CDs and just chewin' the fat with folks. Very nice. (And there will be quite a bit of good pimpage come Thursday.)
Many, many thanks to the con-com for helping me get out there, and to all the nice people, particularly
ericcoleman,
exapno,
ann_totusek, and
lukeski. Nice little con, I had a great time, and I could definitely come back here.
Leaving, though, turned into a bit of a hassle. I already had a headache at the point when my cheapass Motorola phone literally fell apart in my hands. I ended up stopping at the Wal*Mart in Iowa City to get a GoPhone (I'd spoken to AT&T just Thursday about my phone replacement options, and one of 'em was getting a GoPhone and putting my SID card into it -- instant still-my-number phone). And the traffic was weird, not overly busy but still too damn many people tailgating me really close so I would know they felt I wasn't breaking the law to their satisfaction.
And so here I am at a Motel 6 in Yorkville, IL. Very pretty lady at the desk, nice sensahuma and all that. And in an hour or so, I'll drag myself onto the road and get home. I have projects to finish, a radio interview(!) tomorrow morning, and a 307 Ale to finish mixing. ;) If, by chance you still want to send me a track for that, it got delayed, obviously, and this week would really be the time. It WILL go live next Thursday, in time for MarCon, possibly with one or two other surprises.
What's your week look like?
