  • It's been awhile since I released a live show, and I have several I need to get to -- but, finally, here's the Friday night show from Dragon*Con this year. Great, great crowd.
  • This weekend is WindyCon in Lombard, IL, and it should be fantastic as usual. Any part of the musical line-up alone is worth it -- Alexander James Adams, S. J. Tucker, Betsy Tinney (as well as their collectives, Skinny White Chick and Tricky Pixie), Heather Dale, Amy McNally, The Great Luke Ski, Art Warneke, Beth Kinderman & Friends, and -- oh yeah -- me and Toyboat, together for one night only as the mighty Tomboat! Friday night, 9:00 -- be there or be disappointed!
  • Our friend [personal profile] solarbird, known also as Crime And The Forces Of Evil, has a new album, Dick Tracy Must Die, which you might want to check out, and a mailing list to sign up for.
  • Hands-on folks might want to get their hands on this very special issue of Make Magazine.
Ready... set... Pimp Your Stuff!

Tomorrow, ISFiC Press will be releasing Steven Barnes's new collection, Assassin and Other Stories. The book contains four previously published stories, two written in conjunction with Tananarive Due, one (a Hugo-nominated story) written with Larry Niven. It also includes an unproduced teleplay and an original novel.

The book will be on sale at Windycon and subsequently through Amazon.com, ISFiC Press, and other on-line and brick and mortar stores.

Thanks for the concert. (Purchased.)
I am going to hold off on Solarbird's album till the last 2 songs are done. (I am going to sign up for the mailing list.)

I hope Tomboat will be released (in any format) eventually.

Pertinent to the day, I've made another song available, until after the laying of wreaths on Sunday.

This track appears on the CD 'Pagan Folk Against Fascism', btw, an offshoot of the 'Folk Against Fascism' campaign here in the UK.

A new issue of Aphelion Webzine just hit the wires last night. Original SF&F amateur fiction , free for the reading and feedback to the authors strongly encouraged on our forums.

Special note to filkers and dementoids: Aphelion does run poetry, including song lyrics. Do feel free to submit, if you're interested.

I'm the features editor, and would love book, cd, and movie review submissions, as well as essays of general interest to SF/F/Horror fans.

Oh Talis, I lost your email but I wanted you to know I fixed your bio on the DucKon website. Sorry about the mix-up. I copied a paragraph from the bio on your site if that's OK. I figure your words are better than my own. :)

My sore throat has made a turn for the better, so I will definitely be at Windy. No handshakes or hugs, though, please (my immune system has been knocked around enough that I don't want any more germs right now).

Been so busy being a dad that I don't have any new fiction to hawk right now, either, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I'm on the Urban Fantasy panel on Saturday night--with any luck it's not scheduled against either good filk or a Bill Higgins science lecture.

Tomboat XD

Also god damn that's a lineup!

And, people, if you haven't heard Alec's new CD Unseelie Self, I gotta say, I think he's really getting his feed back underneath him, musically. "Lost" and the title track are both particularly just knockouts, and I don't say that lightly.

(Also, thanks so much for the links! <3 Tom!)
