Coming up next week. Here's my schedule (I'll repost this as we get closer):
  • Thursday, 8/13
    • roving, 11:00-12:00
    • roving, 5:00-7:00
    • event, 10:00-11:00 (location TBA)
  • Friday, 8/14
    • roving, 10:00-12:00
    • roving, 3:00-4:00
  • Saturday, 8/15
    • roving, 1:00-3:00
    • roving, 6:00-7:00
    • event, 10:00-11:00 (location TBA)
  • Sunday, 8/16
    • roving, 1:00-3:00
"Roving" basically means I'll be wandering the convention center and singing for 15-20 minutes in any particular location. I'll probably do a lot in the dealers' hall and the long hallway outside it, but I plan to shlep upstairs as well.

Some plans have changed along the way. [personal profile] huskiebear is not able to join me as she had planned (it's all good, just sudden Real Life), and I could use a little help watching the table. If you're going to be at GenCon and you can help, please let me know here. If you can help a lot, and you happen not to have a badge, I might be able to wrangle you one of those as well. Thanks in advance.

What really stinks is that I won't be able to go to GenCon this year even though I live in Indy and work right across the street from the convention center. So...I will have to wait to see you live and in person when you come back to Indy.

*sniffle*

I is teh sad.

I'll be at Gencon all four days. I'll stop by your table Thursday morning and see what you need.

You can always use Diana and Heather's table as a island in the storm if you need to put something down for awhile while wandering. And I know they'd love to see you during the con.

That is SOOOO tempting! But my schedule is entirely dependent on G's recovery, and I would hate to make plans only to have to cancel (i.e. I am not, after all, at WorldCon right now).

If things go exceptionally well, I'll ask if the offer is still open - I'm *really good* at selling things. (Hmmm, but then there would be the bothersome detail of crash space....)

Tom, I have a show supposedly in the Mariott on Saturday night from 9 to 10 pm. I hope your show is following mine in the same room. I just emailed Gen Con to ask them for details on this.

I think Marc Gunn has a show on Sat night too, but I don't know where. Chances are, it's up against one or both of our shows. And all of us are booked against the big Gen Con Dance.

Okay, here's what it says at the Gen Con Registration Website:

Saturday, August 15th:
9:00 pm to 10:00 pm - Marriott: Indiana Ballroom F - Luke Ski in concert
9:00 pm to 10:00 pm - Marriott: Indiana Ballroom C - Marc Gunn in concert
10:00 pm to 11:00 pm - Marriott: Indiana Ballroom D - Tom Smith in concert

Marc also has another show in the same room & time on Friday night.

Your Thursday night 10:00 pm concert still has no location. I say we have it at Steak & Shake in downtown Indianapolis.

Well, listen -- I'm planning to do some roving out and about in the Convention Center hallways, e.g., over by Registration and such. They don't charge admission for that. Say, during the Saturday afternoon period...? ;)

Thanks, ace. I likely won't need stash space -- I'm planning to busk with my cart, that blue box makes a great little performance seat -- but it'll be wonderful to see 'em. We don't get together enough.

Can't provide that, sorry. And it's not a matter of high-pressure sales; I just can't be in two places at once, is all.

Mmmm... chili sketti.

Re: the other -- we'll deal. It's actually like Dragon -- it's big enough that there will be people who'll want to check it out. Is t here a Gencon group on LJ we should be pimping ourselves in?

Well, unfortunately, I won't be in Indy on Saturday because my hubby is running in a 5K for the Mooreland Free Fair. Dang it!

If I lived in Indy instead of 1.5 hours to the east, I would say I could help out a whole bunch. Unfortunately, I won't be there, due to lack of a place to stay. Ah well.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that I was asking! It's just yet another complicating factor (like how to get there) that insures that I will take the high road to staying here in Chicago like a good little helper.

And as I think on it, you may not have had the chance to see my typical sales techniques, but they are pretty much diametrically opposed to "high pressure". I'm just an enthusiast who enjoys resonating with large crowds of potential fellow enthusiasts. Dealers Rooms are fun for me no matter which side of the table I'm on.

I won't be there that weekend.

While you're in/near downtown Indy, you *must* have a sandwich at Shapiro's Deli at the corner of S. Meridian and McCarty. (I think that's where it is.) They're on the pricey side, but they're worth it.

I've had Shapiro's. Good, but I think Zingerman's is better. :) I do know [livejournal.com profile] billroper has to have Shapiro's when he's in town.

Cory and I will be at the con. We will be tied up with Heroes of Rokugan a fair chunk, but if you want we can poke over to lend a hand a little bit?
