Perfect results. The right chef went home. The right chef (one of three worthies, really) won. It was clear right from the choice of teams who was the class of the competition, and as long as they didn't mess it up, they were going to win -- and they did.

Fabio is a natural in the front of the house. His touch with the servers and guests was so perfect that he could never cook another dish in his life and be one of the highest paid people in the restaurant business.

I hate to say it, but I really felt bad for Angelo and Mike. They were fighting for their lives -- and knew it (as Tom said about Angelo) -- but probably didn't want to deal with Marcel. Everybody join me: pooooor Wolverine-lite :-D

I know now why I never get to any of the TC temporary places. Where do they find so many good-looking women people to eat on camera?

If I win big bucks in the lottery, I'm heading straight for Le Bernardin (well, it'd be in my top five places I can't afford to eat but want to, anyway, in NYC).

Bourdain had a great zinger: "Prison breaks are organized with more teamwork and efficiency."

I agree: The right chef went home.

Blais really needs to stop over-thinking. It could be argued it cost him the finale in season 4.

I'm not sure "You made great stoner food" (or whatever the exact phrasing was) is the best compliment ever, but it made me laugh.

Carla, woo hoo, Carla, woo hoo.

Marcel needed to go. I'm one of very few people who like him, but he's an ass. Dale was smart to put him in charge of the other team.

This was the best Restaurant Wars episode of any season; I've watched it several times now. It was great fun (and quite satisfying) to see Marcel shoot himself in the foot and to see the other team get *everything* right.

It was so very telling (and impressive) that 59 of the 76 diners preferred the Bodega team to the Etch team. Wow.

The final four I'd like to see are Richard, Angelo, Fabio, and Carla. The final four I *expect* to see are Richard, Angelo, Dale, and Mike.

But one can never count on a sure thing with Top Chef. Witness Jen. So there could be lots of surprises left, and maybe not all of them good ones.
