Last night was the awards ceremony for the 2011 Grammys. Here's a list of the winners -- did your favorites win, lose, or do you not care because they're handing the damn things out like half price chocolate?

I don't care

I'll see if there was anything worth watching over the next few days when I go through the first 3 hours in about 20 minutes.

I guess what surprised me was hearing that the Kingston Trio got a lifetime Grammy, but never received one when the original members were together (or all alive - I think one of the original members is dead).

Didn't watch it, though it was interesting seeing many tweet about it.

Just don't care.

About the only song on the list that I liked was Cee Lo Green's F*** You. Which is about how I feel about the Grammys.

didn't watch, didn't care (except for the fact it pre-empted CSI Miami)

then again, I haven't listened to the top 40 in so long, I don't even know who most of the groups are these days.

Nice to hear about the Kingston Trio tho, my dad listened to them when I was growing up

jeez. half price choco, indeed.

At least I knew a couple of the acts. ObFilk: Lady Antebellum has built itself a reputation for doing parody... you know from Kaneffed and Bohnhoffed, when they do it, they call it "Lady Hazed".

Looking at the list, it's nice to see Ann Arbor resident Michael Daugherty pick up a few for his "Metropolis Symphony", and nice to see folks like Pete Seeger and Julie Andrews are out there making award-worthy records, this time for kids.

Overall, though, I had more interest (and even that wasn't all that much) in last night's British Film Awards winners.

Don't care. I vaguely know who some of them are and don't really like most of them that I've heard.

The only award I cared about was the one for the Kingston Trio.

The fact that it took them this long to get a damn Grammy is the reason why I don't give a rat's ass about the Grammies.

Very pleased to see that Iron Maiden won for Best Metal Performance. Also nice to see an eclectic band like Arcade Fire steal Album of the Year from under the noses of the over-produced, all about the image, pop/hip-hop acts.

Jeff Beck showed up. Yay! Otherwise... what's with the trend of pop singers calling themselves "Lady"? (By the way, I live in a self-imposed cave, so I never heard of most of them.)

1) Is there an epidemic of covers from the 60s and 70s going on, the way there's an epidemic of movie remakes? Or are all those titles I recognize just coincidence?

2) Am I completely off base to be skeezed out by the juxtaposition of "Lady Antebellum" with a C&W award? I was already a bit put off by the name, but I had assumed she was pop rather than C&W.

It's hard to call the over produced twangy pop that litters the airwaves country anymore. I recall one time I listed to a Rascal Flats song and a Lynyrd Skynyrd song back to back, and noted that the seminal rock band sounded far more like what I would call "country" than the modern country band.

Agreed. It was nice to see JK Rowling & co. honored (or should I say 'honoured') for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, aka the Harry Potter movies. And good on Sir Christopher Lee for being named a Fellow of the (BAFTA) Academy. Sadly, he seemed quite frail, but is apparently still planning on reprising Saruman in The Hobbit.

Tried to care, couldn't

Tried to watch, mainly because the networks won't put anything new up against the Grammys. Fell asleep. Really couldn't get interested.
