Unfortunately for M. Night, they're Razzies.

(If you haven't seen TLA, by the way, be sure to get the RiffTrax for it. It may be your only hope of survival.)

The Razzies pretty much give out awards to whatever they think will get them the most headlines though, right?

I still haven't forgiven them for giving Paris Hilton a Razzie for Repo: The Genetic Opera. Whatever your opinion of Paris Hilton, it's pretty hard to watch that movie and say she did a bad job.

Well, duh. Although their ballots usually are filled with true losers. As a dedicated fan of the animated series upon which it is based, I solemnly swear that I tried to watch the live-action movie, I really tried. It was wretched.

I gave up about ten minutes in. Sokka's antics and slapsticky bad luck just do not translate to the big screen. Apparently neither did Katara's agency or Aang's personality, from the little I saw.

Certainly not with M. Night writing them. The one thing the guy does not translate to the screen is anything resembling a sense of humor. Heath Ledger's Joker was matched against Batman, but "Why so serious?" was coined for M. Night.

I have to agree with her doing a decent job there, but considering the role, I think Kate Winslet would have gotten a Razzie.

I just finished watching the animated series on Netflix streaming with Lily, and I have to say that *that* was thrilling.

All through the last season, I kept thinking to myself what a wonderful PG-rated video game the series would make.

Lily loved it, btw. I've started her on the first season of Xena now and she's devouring everything she can find on Greek mythology.

As an FYI, there's a short sequel series in the works that follows up with the next Avatar in what appears to be a steampunkish world.
