filkertomGreat sadness -- we have lost one of the family. Marty Burke, from whom I learned a whole lot about entertaining people with song, has passed away. More information as it's available. Thanks to drzarron for the heads-up.

He came and sang at my college, at mostly-my instigation, after I'd encountered him through fandom. I learned The Old Dun Cow from him, and Peter Kagan and the Wind, and so much more. And he sang Scotch and Soda with such a whiskey-and-velvet voice...
I will miss him.

Love the choice of tune for a sendoff, Tom... like this version better myself, though. It's got BAGPIPES (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhJp0W0ku2w).... first time I heard this rendition I was just ga-ga.
