Kind of a busy day. It's my late uncle's birthday, my nephew's birthday, and Mother's Day. I may send Mom a card; I'll certainly give her a call.

I will not "Send A Special Kung Fu Panda 2 Mother’s Day E-Card".

I'm taking my mother and Sharon out to brunch. My mother got her present a little early - a book of photos from our Disney World trip, mostly featuring her great-granddaughters.

I sent her a card (which she already got) with an octopus on it, because it was blank inside and I liked it better than any of the "real" Mother's Day cards I saw.

We'll be going out to dinner with my mom. Presumably we'll get her a gift, if she actually tells us before Sunday what she wants. (My mom is extremely picky.) A nice floral arrangement is on its way to the_sheryl's mom.

Tomorrow night, I will go to the Hallmark card store across from where I knit and pick out something. I also need to pick out something for my grandfather's 86th or 87th birthday (not sure which -- the new grandma is actually starting to get him in the habit of sending me a birthday card which is kinda cool).

She and dad were here last weekend and we had fun.

I'll call my mom; with luck she should have received the CD and songbook I mailed to her this morning, and the orchid plant we ordered online.

My wife is getting a Kindle 3 (though not from the kids, who are both broke). The fact that the Younger Daughter's unsuitable has moved out also counts.

I've always hated Mother's Day. My mother and I never had a good relationship, and my children all are four-footed and furry. Believe it or not, but I have only two reasons for not completely loathing MD: my husband, who always does something special, and my Mother-in-Law, who is very close and very dear to me.

My sister and I will get together with a mutual friend and eat out Sunday - I hope I've talked mutual friend out of Hell Central (excuse me, Claim Jumper) this year in favor of a nice little Chinese place nearby.

I'll be staying away from my mom's celebration...there will be an 84yr old grandma and a 5yr old stepniece in attendance, and I'm just two days removed from severe strep throat with 103.1 fever and ear/lymph infections.

Better after scarfing the antibiotics, but no, not enough energy and not running the risk of spreading sickness. Meh.

I could go visit mom & dad out at Holly's Veteran's Cemetary, but it might be better to go for their Sunday before Memorial Day events. Last time I was there, they were still finishing up the landscaping behind that group of plots, so a fresh picture would look better for the sibs.
