filkertomIt is with great regret that I tell you I will not be attending DucKon this weekend. Money, stress, and some Et Cetera make it impossible. Regrets and hugs to everyone, especially Nate & Louie, Gary & Jamie, Graham & Becca, Eric & Lizzie, Luke & Sara, etc., etc., etc. Kick ass and have fun. I'll ideally be back next year, and I will be at WindyCon come heck or high water.

(If money were the only problem, I'd be happy to take up a collection -- as I found when I was collecting for the Breast Cancer 3-Day, the room party floor gets more and more generous as the evening goes on!) Relax, deal with what you've got to deal with, and we'll just have to download every single one of your live performances to listen to while we wait. Oh, wait, already did that....
We're going to hold you to that promise to be at WindyCon, though! Anything that might even possibly interfere, just tell us what you need. :-)

I'd gladly put at least as much into it as I paid for the Weird Al show I went to a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, I like your shows better anyway!

Date: 2011-06-18 04:32 am (UTC)So far it's been good for me. I got a personal guitar lesson by the filk GoH Gary Hanak. (I was so inexperienced, I had to be taken away from the group and taught the right way to pluck without a pick.) Then at the Arkcon concert they said we could sign up for a chance to win one of four songbooks. (It included your Herminite/Pirate song.) The concert ran late and I had to decide between staying and getting a chance to win one of the books or leaving and going to the panel about writing an erotic scene. I decided to stay and guess what, I won book #4! I even got them to autograph it. By then it was time to go home and take care of my cats and get to sleep so I can go back tomorrow.
You'll be missed. So far it's been a great con.
