If these guys needed to scapegoat pet owners they could take a picture of a dog taking a leak on a fire hydrant a block away from Ground Zero and spin this into "Anti-American Dog-Lovers Desecrate The Sacred Memory of Our 9/11 Losses" and they wouldn't stop until some of their beloved followers bombed an animal shelter or two.

They don't forget, they don't BELIEVE it. In the last few years a number of prominent conservatives, including some of the current R presidential contenders, have publicly said that the 1st amendment guarantees freedom of CHRISTIAN religion, not of ALL religion.
