I first looked at that thinking "Who's the old guy?" and then heard the voice -- holy crap! That's Elvis Costello! (Yeah, I ain't looking that young anymore either....)
Side note, surgery was harder than expected. There was an unexpected amount of gunk that spread to part of his small intestines. During the op the vet called and said some of it gotten in some hard to reach places and there was a risk of infection after operation. He could have ended then. Fortunately he was able to remove it and put some safety measures in place (it was technical, something about keeping the organs from getting damaged). It was a rare interaction between diabetes and pancreatitus. They've never seen anything like that before. I stopped by to see him tonight, even brought a can of food to encourage him to eat. I have to say he looked awful yet awesome at the same time. His recovery was extended a day to be sure the stitching took and there weren't any infections. My buddy ain't out of the woods yet, but we are moving forward.
Thanks for posting this. I was out to breakfast on Saturday and the coffee shop played his cover of Peace, Love and Understanding which took me back to when it first came out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RVDQgVxprE
