I'd see it. I can't tell if they're serious about it being a real movie, but if it is, I'd see it. It seems pretty interesting to me.

See, I love watching Ghost Hunters. I'd totally see this movie, but I'd go in knowing that it's just a movie, with all the effects and post production and set-effects that implies. Will I let myself get drawn into the movie? Oh, probably - I find that deliciously fun. And then I'll giggle like a schoolgirl, afterwards.

It doesn't look like they're billing this as non-fiction, actual footage, or anything like that. It's just a movie told from that perspective. Totally fiction. Having said that, it looks damn good though. :)

And don't expect any real proof to appear on the news unless a ghost kidnaps the president or something. It's still a subject of ridicule in the mainstream media. Ghost Hunters has caught some damn fine evidence. One of my favorites was the guy who got knocked over by the duffel bag he was carrying after it suddenly shot up and hit him in the face.

I'm actually hoping this movie does well. People don't make straight up horror movies any more. They make movies that show people getting slaughtered; and the recent crop of claptrap, like the SAW series, aren't helping matters.

For all of its problems The Blair Witch Project was a horror movie in the old school vein. That's what I love about it so much, it really was an attempt to show that you could do a movie like that and have it be successful.

Let's hope that Paranormal Activity will be an even bigger success so that the studios learn that people will go to see this kind of movie.

I would love to see the movie though. Reminds me of an older film called "The Entity." Anyone else recall it?

Exactly. I proudly own The Blair Witch Project and The Changeling with George C. Scott, as well as some of the old Corman American International films. Even The Raven, which is pretty much a comedy, has a few moments that'll grab your ass and shake you (e.g., when Vincent Price's father rears up out of his coffin and, in a perfect zombie voice, says, "BEWARE").

Personally I'd like to track down some of the old Hammer movies like Curse of the Werewolf, which to my mind is one of the best werewolf movies ever made.
