Some of you may remember my LJ post awhile back on pharmacists who refuse to fill some prescriptions because of their faith. Well, it seems to be evolving into a movement. [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear aimed me to this article from Prevention about the phenomenon.

(Love the last section on "Public Opinion".)

Hit them where it hurts: in the wallet.

Sooner or later, the market economy is going to catch up with these eejits. I hire my medical professionals, therefore I'm the boss. I will only do business with doctors or pharmacists who do things my way, whatever that way is... and I suspect the ones who work in =favor= of selling the best-selling medications will win.

grrrrrrrr

I have a cousin who was prescribed the pill to prevent the re-occurrence of ovarian cysts. Had those continued to plague her, she might not have been able to have the two children she did later on in her life.

I see a pharmacist's job as that of filling prescriptions as per the doctor's orders, assisting customers in obtaining information about said prescriptions, checking interactions. Not for them to say, dammit.
