Date: 2004-07-15 06:15 pm (UTC)Red Hot & Blue (http://www.redhotandblue.com/) is my first choice for ribs. Their dry ribs and pulled pork are just stunning.
In Ann Arbor, there are several places that do all kindsa BBQ... but Zingerman's Roadhouse (http://www.zingermans.com/) learned their trade from Ed Mitchell (http://www.mitchellsbbq.com/home.html), and their whole-hog pulled pork is not only wonderfully smoky and flavorful (with an amazing vinegar that gives it a hell of a nice bite), it's actually frickin' cheap. $6.50 for a half-pound, which, along with, say, some green beans and some cheddar biscuits picked up from Red Lobster, is a spectacular meal.
(There's a place in Ann Arbor called Smokehouse Blues (http://www.smokehouseblues.com/).
If nothing else is available, I'm willing to be talked into trying local places, but my mind and heart shift into steak mode -- less chance of being disappointed. :)
