I'll be at OVFF this weekend. Should be a great time. Those of you who I won't see there, have an excellent weekend, and use this for an open thread.

And, politically-minded types: hold onto your hats. Methinks the next few days are gonna be un-frickin'-believable.

I certainly hope that this dose of coolness (http://www.latinoreview.com/films_2005/fox/episodeIII/teaserposter.html) belies the film's acronym.

Hey Tom,

"I got the gun, you got the brew.
You got two choices of what you can do.
It's not a tough decision as you can see,
I can blow you away, or you can ride with me."
~ Beastie Boys, Paul Revere

I guess what I am saying via Ad Rock and MCA is that I'm very happy to see you'll be making it as planned. Rachel and I look forward to seeing you, and if I have the time, I'll have a new song or two to sing. See you there. :)

I will see you there ... of course, unless you brought a connection with you, you won't see this until you get home. :)

Okay, we're hip-deep in this stupid, wasteful, illegal war in Iraq. Why? Because, among other reasons, BushCo and their cohorts wanted profits from oil. Why? Because our economy is heavily based on oil consumption. Why? Because we don't have enough alternative energy sources.

Enter thermo-depolymerization (http://www.whizkid.com/stuff/thermo.html).

Let's look at the cycle, shall we?

Bush's ancestor, Prescott Bush, was heavily involved with Saudi oil interests going way back. Bush's father, referred to as "41", was once head of the CIA. Bush was close friends with Ken Lay of Enron, and Cheney was/is involved with Halliburton, and Condi Rice is so big in the oil field she has a tanker named after her. Is it any wonder we're so hip deep in the crap, as opposed to the crude.

Then in promoting "alternative energy" and hydrogen power, Bush wanted to give the major tax incentives to the -existing- energy firms to develop hydrogren supplies and power, as opposed to the smaller companies which were already working with it.

Hmmm . . .

As for the next few days: with both Chief Justice Renquist and Mr. Arafat on the disabled list, can you imagine what either of their deaths over the weekend would do?

. . . observation: this poor Major Pearson trying to give a briefing at the Pentagon is giving a lovely example of "baffle them with BS" with all of his acronyms and mil-speak in trying to justify the missing explosives, especially since a reporter from Salt Lake City has VIDEO of the stuff in the depot well after the invasion . . .

Anyone know if Tom got another Pegasus Award tonight?

I have not seen word yet. (I checked rec.music.filk already.)

Nice to see you

Nice to see you again as always. I know you were there under strained circumstances. I hope you had a good time and didn't get the bad news you were waiting on.

I'll let you know what I think of the new CD

And Now this.

The Washington Redskins lost to the Green Bay Packers, 28-14, Setting the stage once again for one of the OLDEST Election Indicators.

For 17 Presidential Elections, scince 1936, as the Washington Redskins went, so went the election. If they won their last home game - the incumbant party would reclaim the Whitehouse. If they lost, then the Oppposing would take up residence at 1600 Penn. Ave.

Being a supersticious man myself, I'm taking this as even further good news after the Red Sox (John Kerry's own Hometown team) won the World series. ^_^

I'm still voting though. XD
