Off To MarCon, With Most Of A New CD
May. 26th, 2005 10:29 pmTruth in advertising: Three songs aren't done yet ("Enter: The Waffle", "Boulevard of Broken Genes", "With Great Power Comes Great Power Bills"), and one instrumental track ("The Sinister Sixty Strike") is recorded but needs sound effects in profusion on top of it. And, having the time to do so, I'm going to re-record the "female" vocals with actual female vocalists, and generally clean things up a bit.
But, apart from that, 24HCD2: The Last Hero On Earth is done, and I'm pretty proud of it. And I'm burning Special Preview Edition CD-Rs for MarCon right now.
I'm gonna have a release, or pre-release, or Special Preview Edition release, party Friday night from 9:00-12:00. Ookla the Mok and Luke Ski should be there as well. I'll also have a table in the dealer's room, and my concert is, I believe, at 2:30 Saturday. See you there!

Date: 2005-05-27 03:38 am (UTC)Yeah, you saying "good morning, punkin" to yourself in "Warning: Wimbledon" would weird me out. Not to mention "A Million Light-Years From Love" and the reprise...

See it in all it's glory this weekend at Tom's room party, featuring female lead vocals by the lovely Rachel Thurston.

Date: 2005-05-27 06:03 pm (UTC)OTOH I do have a nice concert slot, and it's an hour away. I also have two brand new filks to debut, one of them a result of agreeing with Tom's assessment of Episode III. It's one of those ones that springs almost fully formed and it took me less than an hour to polish it off. I'll post it here, but do me a favor and don't spread it around.
Cheap Plastic Doll, a Fanboy's Lament
TTTO "Red Rubber Ball" by The Cyrkle
I should have known. The third one blew chunks.
They told me it was different, but it very clearly stunk.
Wooden acting, corny writing, silly as could be.
A ton of flash, but not an ounce of continuity.
But I think it's gonna be all right.
Yeah, the worst is over now.
The Star Wars hype is fading like a cheap plastic doll.
You gave me dreams, then killed them by degrees.
So keep your toys and console games, keep your DVDs.
The dark-side farce you forced on me is finally at an end.
You got my youth, and forty bucks. That's all I'm gonna spend.
But I think it's gonna be all right.
Yeah, the worst is over now.
The Star Wars hype is fading like a cheap plastic doll.
The story's in the past, with nothing to recall.
I've got the new "Galactica," and I don't need you at all.
Now I know you're not the only starship on the screen.
If I never hear your name again, well that'd be peachy keen.
And I think it's gonna be all right.
Yeah, the worst is over now.
The Star Wars hype is fading like a cheap plastic doll.
Oh-oh I think it's gonna be all right.
Yeah, the worst is over now.
The Star Wars hype is fading like a red rubber Maul.
