Thing is, there are so many films not on this list that are effectively the film language of geekdom -- Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the Batman and Superman and Mad Max flicks, all the rest of the Star Trek films besides Nemesis, the Disney animateds since (and including) The Little Mermaid, classic horror by Hammer and American International, Godzilla movies....

This is a list of contemporary drama and comedy, one that happens to have some SF/fantasy and a few classics on it, and those aren't the films I tend to go to see.
