This also might interest you. An LJ friend of mine set up a journal called katrinacane. It's a dummy account; all of its added friends are people in the New Orleans area who're attempting to ride out the storm. So if you go to that account and click on "friends" for its friends list, all the posts you'll see will be from people at Ground Zero in the hurricane, posting about their experiences. I'm not sure how long most of them will be posting, since the power in the area's pretty much certain to go out and stay out, but for the moment, there are a dozen or so people chronicling their experiences there.
