Cheney's Chief of Staff "Scooter" Libby resigns. What, an hour and ten minutes after he was indicted?

Restoring honor and dignity to the White House, indeed.

Update: Yeah, sure, it's fun to jump all over 'em. They deserve it. But, as Senator Ted Kennedy points out, that's not the point of the exercise. (Thanks to Atrios at Eschaton for the transcription.)

And so the dominoes start toppling. When will Cheney plan that next heart attack, I wonder so cynically.

Dear Scooter,

I've arrange for a sword to be delivered to your
office. Please fall on it at your earliest convenience.

This is kinda fun, watching Dubya's whole organization fall apart one by one. I wonder who's next? :)

Do you ever remember a time when just the appearance of impropriety was enough for someone to resign from office? Heck, even Watergate got people to resign before they officially were indicted. It'd be nice if even one person in this administration had enough self-respect to admit when they were wrong and step up.
