More later, but... sigh. Home.

How's your day going?

About as good as any day when I had to be at work at 5:00 am.

Good to see you got home safely.

Not bad - mostly another day where nothing is breaking at work, so boredom is threatening to overwhelm. Oh, well. It gives me time to work on episode 3 of my podcast. :D

Glad you made it back safe. The one time I drove to Minnesota, for a friend's wedding, it snowed. Blizard, actually. At the end of April.

Working, as usual. Listening to "Traveller", which just showed up in the mail yesterday.

It's like pulling teeth. All I'm trying to do is get the idjits I work for to confirm that they have no work for me until the latter part of next week, so I can visit some friends in Georgia. How hard can it be for a boss to admit that they don't have anything for you, and won't for a little while instead of making me check in every morning to see that there's nothing for me to do?

Mostly it was post-con exhaustion. I really didn't get much rest Saturday night, and that, combined with the bad driving conditions, meant that I only got about a hundred miles on Sunday, if that. Monday, the driving was great, and I was mostly rested, but as I was circumventing Chicagoland I realized that my eyes were getting tired and my reflexes were chancy. So I determined that, if possible, I'd make it to Michigan. Which I did. Which still left a solid 2-1/2 hours driving, which I theoretically could've made last night but I really didn't want to chance. So I found a Motel 6, crashed, and got home. And now I can really crash. :)

Anytime you have the opportunity to have your livelihood hinge on the stock market, and particularly on one stock in the tech sector... don't. My heart has been living in my throat for the last several days, and I'm not sure how much longer I can take the stress.

Other than that, it's been a pretty normal day.

I'm glad you made it home safely. It sounds like it's been pretty rough lately

Home is a good place to be. (*snort* I just typoed that as "a good place to bed." Can we tell what I'd rather be doing this morning?)

I'm okay today. In about 48 hours or so, I'm going to start being a squealing fangirl; Thursday night I go see Thomas Dolby for the first time in 19 years. In a club. For less than I think I paid for the tickets the last time....

My day so far...
A lot like the end part of the Battle of Serenity Valley, only without the cool special effects and mostly text only...

Coughing up clear phlegm, fighting weariness but hoping against hope that it's all just result of the madness of last week and family / oscar weekend, and not a recurrance of pneumonia. Or in my case, pun-monia.

I thought of you this morning, whilst filling in today's date: It's 3/07 Ale, me lads...

Science!

Hee! He's high on my Mad Science iTunes playlist with "She Blinded Me With Science", along with stuff like "For Science" by They Might Be Giants and "Mad Scientists United" by You Know Whose LJ This is.

Have lots of fun!

My coworkers need to read that study that was done on how interruptions make your attention span shatter for at least 15 minutes.

In the meantime, my friends found this article, and I immediately thought of you, and 307 Ale....

"Whisky of the gods" (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060227/ap_on_fe_st/britain_whisky_galore)

I'm *almost* tempted to buy a case. Just cause.

Last night I dreamed about meeting you at the upcoming Norwescon. My dreams are getting way too weird lately. :-)

My company had a major billing conversion yesterday.

One word, the last syllable rhymes with 'truck'.

Oi.

work was...uninteresting at best. but i looked pretty. also discovered that my blue-tinted contacts have a tear in one, so off to the trash they went. not bad for a disposable pair i've been nursing along for almost four years. maybe once i get around to reading the aetna policy on vision i'll get some more fun colored contacts to see who actually looks at my eyes. :D more of the same uninterestingness tomorrow, i suspect, with a chance of rain. oh, and i picked up HP:GoF on dvd for mom's birthday this sunday; i'm converting my parents to my geekly ways! it makes me happy. i asked what she wanted, she wanted the new harry potter movie. and it's kind of sad how much that amuses me. between that and my new tarot cards, thus go the highlights of my day.
by the by, when's a good time to call to talk about that hare-brained plan of mine? i'd feel bad for interrupting some of your much-needed rest time so soon after you got back from touring.

Friday would be good. I've got vague plans today, and more specific ones tomorrow, but nothing going Friday. :)
