I must've been busy last year. There are at least two cons that I agreed to go to that I forgot about completely at one point or another. The one I was reminded of this morning is ConGenial in Racine, WI, the weekend of March 30 - April 1. More information as I have it, although there is an LJ group, about_congenial.

I had fun at ConGenial the one time I went (looong time ago) but I haven't made it back. No way this year, with it being right after FKO.

From what I gather from just the comments in that LJ group they are losing a lot of people due to the hotel going no-smoking. Similar to what happened many years ago when someone tried to make Minicon a "dry" con.

Hmm...I wasn't able to make Windycon and Capricon is a bit costly for me so maybe a small con wouldn't be too bad. It would be nice if their website gave more details this late into the game... (http://www.congenial.org/)

Mph. I feel some desire to attend specifically to support them for being non-smoking. The one thing that limited my enjoyment of the one that I did attend, whenever it was, was the smoking. I hate being required to choose between not being in a room where something cool is happening and being sick.

Unfortunately, it does not change the fact that it's the weekend after FKO, and being out of town for two weekends in a row is really bad for me.
