First, the house concert was a lot of fun. Getting there... not so much. But I made it, and a whole lot of thanks to a whole lot of people, including my hosts Jason and Angela (Happy Birthday, Jason!), Lexi, Cain, Kate and Jonathan and their household, and a few other people whose names I didn't catch. You're all great.

The concert went pretty darn well, I thought. And the recording (with the Zoom H4) also went very well. Well enough, in fact, that I think I will be selling that concert very soon. Goodness knows, everybody seems to think I should, so who am I to say no to honest monty money? :)

The drive back was a little chancy. Snow, wind, US23, you know. But, I'm here.

How's your weekend going?

Going great..

Had two days off!

Spent Saturday add a USB 2.0 board to the back computer, then fired up the new 250g external HD and did back ups on the two main computers and my laptop. Also got groceries and made lasagna.

Today slept in, cleaned some. Then unpacked and uploaded software to see about setting up a forum board.

Been a productive weekend.

You be careful around Honest Monty. He may say he's your friend, but don't believe him. You'd do best to say no to him once in a while, otherwise he'll take your cash, your guitar, your dog, and four locks of your hair to use in voodoo experiments.

Do NOT trust Honest Monty!

So, what is it with you, house concerts, and bad travelling weather?

I don't suppose the time of year would make a difference or anything.

Visiting with a friend who's mother passed away on the 24th... Memorial service (instead of a funeral) was rough for them and I am visiting for an extra day to make sure they are OK tonight.

Wonderful concert. As predicted my son spent most of the day listening to the CD. His new favorite song is the Hermione pirate song. (Talk like a pirate birthday.) My husband and I spent the day getting him a new (used) car. Looking at cars in 20 degree weather with flurries was no fun, but we found one.

Cleaned the house. Place is spotless. Now relaxing by watching WWE Royal Rumble. All-in-all, a good day.

and another thing about that

Oh, and my child (well he's 14, not exactly a child) says that your live concerts are much more fun to listen to than the other ones. He likes the pauses and jokes you make and the audience reaction, it adds so much to the songs he says...

I wonder what others think...

other ones being the studio recorded CDs.

I like both. The concerts have the jokes and the spontaneity from the audience. However, I also like the polished sound of the studio tracks, and some of my favorites are studio songs that probably wouldn't translate well to live performance ("And They Say I've Got Talent" almost has to be done with the piano, and most of Last Hero On Earth can't really be done live, although there are a couple songs on there that can be).

And then there are songs that are a lot better live than recording. I really wish we had a recording of Tom peforming Wolf's song from last year because I actually liked the live recording better than the recorded version we got (and the recorded version rocked and I love it).

It was wonderful to see you again :) I played the recording for Foxwit when I came home, since he couldn't make it. And Nez just loves the new Bunny song :)

We tried. We really tried

I ran into Lexxie Saturday and reminded her of the concert.

Kat and I had obligations Saturday...but we really did try to get over there. I had my guitar packed in case you wanted me to bring it out and jam (I would not have brought it into Clifton Unitarian without your permission), but was simply exhausted by the time our obligations had been met.

Originally my headline had an accurate typo - it read We tired. We really tired.

But other than missing your concert, the weekend went well.

The recording is EXCELLENT. I had originally expected tinny or hollow sounding, but it worked INCREDIBLY well!
